Crime prime minister?

When we here the name of a well-known Australian and ICC in the same sentence, most Australian’s will think about the International Cricket Council. Unfortunately for the current prime minister, the ICC currently accompanying his name is the International Criminal Court. Recent reports suggest that a

Sydney law firm Birchgrove Legal has referred Anthony Albanese to the ICC over the support to Israel, which it wants investigated on the grounds of potential culpability for genocide.

This is a landmark case as it focusses on accessorial liability; in which the current prime minister is being accused of being the respective accessory. Could we see an early election call? An early step down for Albo? Or is this merely a media stunt that will be shrugged off within the week? Read more here

China chaos

China once again finds itself in the News headlines with tensions escalating between themselves and the Philippines. The Philippines are currently pushing forward a Maritime Zones Bill, aiming to assert maritime jurisdiction based on international law.

China vehemently opposes this, arguing it infringes on its territorial sovereignty in the South China Sea, particularly around Huangyan Island.

The move comes amid historical disputes and defiance of a 2016 arbitration ruling. China accuses the Philippines of violating international law and warns that the situation could further complicate the already contentious South China Sea issue. Read more about this issue here.

bad advice from jeremy

On the topic of International Law and looking at other countries, I’m going to rank my top 3 countries (excluding Australia of course).

3. Bosnia and Herzegovina

AND? AND? AND? 2 peas in a pod whilst also having an “and” in the country name. This double trouble is locked in the top 3 for sure.

2. Brazil

Have you ever met a not cool Brazilian? Everyone is born with 10x swagger and there’s a massive statue in Rio. Can’t go wrong here.

1. Bermuda

“I wanna take you to'“… what you might ask? I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahamas come on pretty mama! It also has it’s own triangle, how many countries have that? Easiest number 1 pick ever.
